Government documents are sources of information kept by local state, and federal governments. Not all government documents are scholarly or peer-reviewed, but they are generally considered authoritative, credible sources. Government documents can include the texts of laws, regulations, statistics, scientific and technical information, maps, and detailed analyses. Government informatoin is readily avaialbe to the public for free.
